“Most people on this planet are born without the memory or the distinction of what they came to do.
I am concerned about the transition that’s going to occur that no one talks about, but there’s going to be big change. There’s going to be an alteration of this reality. We’re going to have to learn to live communally and live off the land.
What astrology does is help you understand: What’s my purpose? What’s my unique strand? What’s my contribution? In preparation for the future, we need to know: What did I sign up for? How will I find my own rhythm? What will I do to keep my nervous system grounded? How will I stay true to myself? How do I give myself permission to speak my words and be my person without all the noise? How do I fulfill my purpose as we move into this scary era? Who am I? How do we get to the future?
Be Yourself.”
– Debra Silverman
Astrology Found Me
Wow. Life really is like one big game of hide and seek. Astrology used to be “it” and found me at the young age of 15 (maybe even younger.) Now, as I go through another ego death/awakening in adulthood, I’m “it” and I’ve found Astrology again.
I was mind blown when I heard this podcast with Blu and Debra Silverman. The energy that bounced between them was so raw, organic and exciting. What a great episode that I highly recommend if you’re interested in Astrology. Debra Silverman has a way of making astrology so irresistible and fun. When you hear her talk about it, you can’t help but want to learn more. She also has a gift of putting a really fun, modern spin on how she explains concepts. For example, Silverman calls the North Node the “shortcut to Enlightenment”. I’ve been reading books about the North Node for decades now, and have been drawn to the concept since I was 15. Now I see why my intuition kept nudging me to explore the North Node and all of Astrology.
I used to always seek schools of thought that could help me better express myself. Then it became a means to understand others. I was obsessed with reading about all the different signs and their traits, what makes them unique and all of the properties that so naturally intertwine and correspond with nature. The masculine, feminine, elementals, energetics, cardinal, mutable, fixed properties of a sign intrigue me so much. Moreso, how I was able to connect the dots whenever I would look up someone’s birth chart. “Ahh, he’s an Aquarius but has a Sagittarius moon and an Aries rising. No wonder he’s so fiery”.
I share all this to tell you that if you feel called or drawn to something, explore it. Remember, we’re all just souls having a human experience in this lifetime. If you feel a deep inkling inside of you, it’s for a reason. Don’t ignore it. I will also say, many, if not most, of us are not in touch with this inner knowing. Astrology is one way to help tune back in with that inner voice.
A large majority of people I’ve encountered in life don’t believe in Astrology and think it’s just for entertainment. Others completely discredit it, saying it has no scientific backing and that it’s a man-made framework. But I’ve always known there’s something bigger happening around it. There’s an undeniable spiritual aspect that coincides with it, no matter how hard I try to discount it. So to hear Debra explain the concepts in such a practical way with the spiritual edge that I’ve believed it held for so long was a lightbulb moment.
It felt like I got a permission slip to keep pursuing and exploring something I’m genuinely interested in and feel so called to dive into. I hope that anyone reading this takes the key message away – not just about Astrology, but anything you love and feel a deep inner pull towards – follow it. Listen to your heart. When you do that, you’ll start to see seemingly magical synchronicities happen in your life. You’ll somehow end up in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. But it won’t be a coincidence, it will be because you’re expressing and honoring your inner truth. So, without further ado, let’s move on to how Astrology serves as a tool for your self-growth journey.
What’s Your Unique Flavor?
What was God thinking when she made you? Your birth chart holds the answer. Astrology can provide a psychological model to help you fall in love with yourself. By studying your chart, you uncover the best version of yourself. Rather than predicting what will happen, astrology reveals your strengths, challenges, and how you can step into your highest potential. It offers deep insight into who you are, so you can cultivate a life of purpose and self-love.
Astrology isn’t just a tool to understand the future. In fact, most people don’t use it to predict the future, but it does have a strong track record of being able to do just that. Vedic astrology is primarily used for prediction, while Western Astrology (aka sidereel) is moreso a reference for self-knowing.
I wish that when I was growing up I had a guide that could help me understand myself and others on a deeper level. That’s what your birth chart is. By embracing your birth chart, you gain clarity about your unique contributions. What lights your soul on fire? and how to navigate the challenges in your life. Why don’t more people integrate this into their daily lives? Because it can profoundly deepen relationships, help you make decisions that align with your soul, and ultimately help you love yourself for who you truly are.
Your Birth Chart: Clues About the Highest Expression of YOU
Your birth chart is a roadmap for what you can become if you choose to step into your highest self. It’s a tool for self-discovery and personal growth, offering a deeper understanding of your desires, emotions, and the best way to show up in the world. It’s a deep longing to be connected that all humans share, and astrology helps you cut through the noise to connect to your truest Astrology for Clarity and Self-Love
If you’re feeling confused or lost about what you’re supposed to be doing in this lifetime, astrology can offer clarity. It can help you uncover the unique “flavor” of your soul, guiding you toward your purpose. It’s not about following a prescribed path—it’s about aligning with your natural rhythm, understanding your strengths, and staying true to yourself.
Self-love is the critical step that must precede sharing your gift with the world. The greatest gift you can give to the world is sharing your unique gift and your authentic self. The world needs that more than ever now. And if you don’t share it, the world will miss an opportunity to have experienced the special gift that only you are able to deliver in the manner that you are meant and able to in your own way. Once you reach that place, life becomes so light and fun. Life really becomes a dance rather than an endless struggle.
Birth Chart Cheat Sheet: Decoding Your Chart
1. The Ascendant – Your Soul and Inner World
Your rising sign was once thought to represent your outward persona and how others perceive you. But in reality, your ascendant represents your soul and inner world. It’s the lens through which you approach life and the essence of who you are at your core. For example, I am a Sagittarius rising, which means my approach to life is adventurous, philosophical, and always seeking truth.
2. The North Node – Your Spiritual Path
Studying your north node will help you define your “why”.
Your North Node is like a shortcut to your soul’s enlightenment. It is a point in your chart that shows you what will light your soul on fire and guide you toward fulfilling your higher purpose. The North Node is not about the comfort zone, but rather where you are meant to grow in this lifetime. Find people who have your north node sign in their chart. They will light you up and show you the energy that you should strive to understand for your soul’s fulfillment.
In the coming years, as the world shifts and changes, we will need tools that help us understand ourselves and our place in the world. Astrology offers a powerful means to uncover your unique path, purpose, and rhythm. By using astrology, you can step into your power, avoid the trap of comparison, and become the best version of yourself, not for anyone else, but for YOU.
3. Moon Sign – Your Emotional World. The moon sign describes what makes you feel safe and how you express emotions.
